FAR OUT MURAL PARTY RECAP! >>> Photos inside!
We are Far Out are so proud to call Helping Our Music Evolve - or H.O.M.E. - a sponsor of Far Out Nashville. Earlier last month, we commissioned a Far Out mural that lives inside HOME from the amazing artist Lance Turner! We are so honored to have worked with Lance in dreaming up this mural to spread awareness about Nashville's first psychedelic art & music festival.
From Lanceturnerpainting.com: Lance Turner has exhibited in galleries and Museums throughout the United States, including the Los Angeles Center for Digital Art in Los Angeles, CA; Memphis Brooks Museum of Art in Memphis,TN; the Visual Arts Center in Punta Gorda, FL; The Southern Nevada Museum of Art in Las Vegas, NV; The Farmington Museum of Art in Farmington, NM; and the Woodruff Arts Center and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Atlanta, GA. His work was recently published in issue 118 of New American Paintings. A recent solo show entitled "Lance Turner: Process and Documentation" was included in the Memphis Flyer's Best of 2008 as "one of the most wildly imaginative shows of the year". Lance Turner was born in North Carolina in 1985. He graduated magna cum laude from Memphis College of Art with a BFA in Painting and Art History, and a MFA in Painting at Savannah College of Art and Design. ~
In order to properly celebrate this collaboration - and to kick off the hype train for the upcoming Far Out Fest - we threw a mural reveal party, showcasing the piece as a backdrop for folks to use as a photobooth! Special thanks to Amber Davis for taking photos at our cocktail hour party, complete with a playlist of Far Out bands, rainbow snacks, purple lemonade and live painting by Utopian Slur.
