Admission to the show included a pair of Far Out Portable Light Shows (aka diffraction glasses) and visual projections by Labrys Light Show. Shoutout to Black Venus, Mesmer Tea and Gypsy Canyon Sunrise for being excellent supporting acts on this beautiful bill.

FAR OUT NASHVILLE FINAL PRESHOW RECAP

On May 18, 2017 the backyard of Fond Object transformed into a immersive psychedelic dreamscape. As the sun started it's descent in East Nashville, local musicians gathered on the floors of the old house, draped in fabrics, incense, and liquid light projections. The hour long freeform drone session included mind-bending echoes of synths, singing bowls, a harp, guitars, and a didgeridoo, to name a few. After the soundbath, the Ra-praising Golden Dawn Arkestra marched through the crowd of local cosmonauts and landed on stage for their out of this world performance. We couldn't think of a better way to prepare for the psychfest that is Far Out Nashville.

FAR OUT SPONSOR HIGHLIGHT >>> RISOLOGY CLUB!

It’s a risograph! We are so thankful for our friends at Risology Club, who use one of these puppies to create our fliers and posters. Curious how it works? Well here you go: The original is scanned through the machine and a master is created, by means of tiny heat spots on a thermal plate burning voids (corresponding to image areas) in a master sheet. This master is then wrapped around a drum and ink is forced through the voids in the master. The paper runs flat through the machine while the drum rotates at high speed to create each image on the paper. Pretty #farout, huh?
